Dr. Slocum is excited to be joining The Paw Patch Place family as an Associate Veterinarian. She loves helping pets and their families live happy, healthy lives together and believes the best care comes from building strong, lasting bonds.

Originally from New Castle, Indiana, Dr. Slocum earned her bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences from Purdue University and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University. She has a special interest in dentistry and soft tissue surgery. She enjoys guiding pet owners through every stage of their pet’s life. As an Elite Fear Free Professional, she is committed to making every visit as calm and comfortable as possible. She finds her greatest joy in building lasting relationships with pets and their families. She loves helping owners understand their pets, strengthen their bonds, and enjoy many happy years together.

Outside of work, Dr. Slocum enjoys traveling, with her most recent trip to Europe, trying new restaurants (she may be a bit of a foodie!), refinishing furniture, thrifting, and cheering on Purdue basketball. She shares her life with her partner, James, and their sweet dog, Sherpa, a German Shepherd-Husky mix. Dr. Slocum and James are excited to call Indianapolis home and ready to explore all the city has to offer.
